Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A football club Corinthians has expanded its partnership with the New Era Cap Company.
The new two-year agreement covers the 2017 and 2018 seasons and will result in New Era creating a range of Corinthians-branded products.
The first product line to be announced by New Era will commemorate the 40th anniversary of Corinthians’ state championship win in 1977, the club’s first title in 23 years.
New Era will benefit from brand exposure at the club’s training ground and promotion through digital media channels, while marketing campaigns and fan offers will also be organised to promote the partnership.
In a statement, Corinthians said its partnership with New Era is indicative of the club's new sponsorship model. The club said future deals would look to exploit “certain segments with a more affordable price” and added that it would explore ways to sign more sponsors that would not have to assume branding space on the team's kit.
New Era first partnered with Corinthians in 2009.
