NBA basketball team the Los Angeles Clippers has entered into a partnership with the Hawaii Tourism Authority.
The deal will cover the remainder of the 2016-17 NBA season. As part of the agreement, the Clippers will also travel to Honolulu for the team’s pre-season training camp next year.
The HTA will benefit from broadcast and online exposure, with in-game promotions to be organised at Staples Center, the Clippers’ home arena.
While in Hawaii, Clippers players and coaches will take part in a fan fest event. Dates for the training camp and other events will be announced at a later time.
“Hawaii’s top producing visitor market is Southern California, so this made the most sense for us,” Leslie Dance, the HTA’s vice-president of marketing and product development, told the Pacific Business News. “The Clippers are looking to expand their brand, and it is great exposure for us as well.”
