South African beer brand Castle Lager will be the headline sponsor of the upcoming cricket Test series between South Africa and opponents Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
The deal between Cricket South Africa and South African Breweries is for the current season only and will be reviewed at the end of the season.
South African Breweries is a direct subsidiary of the multi-national brewing group Anheuser-Busch InBev.
“Castle believes that sport is our nation’s greatest unifier and we are proud to associate ourselves with the Proteas [South African team]. We look forward to an excellent series of summer cricket, filled with good times, great beer and new friendships,” said AB InBev sponsorship manager Gregg Fry.
The Pakistan Tour to South Africa includes three Test matches during the period from December 26 to mid-January.
The Sri Lanka Tour includes two Test matches in February.
