Construction services provider Buildcorp has signed up as the title sponsor of the new National Rugby Championship in Australia.
The 11-week competition, which will begin on August 21, will feature almost 300 young players from the national team, the Super Rugby franchise competition and club rugby. The nine-team tournament will be operated by the Australian Rugby Union.
The length of the deal was not disclosed.
Buildcorp managing director Tony Sukkar said that the partnership would complement the company’s existing long-term sponsorship of University Rugby in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.
“We are proud to be supporting this important new tier of Australian Rugby, which represents the missing link in the player development pathway from the grassroots through to Super Rugby and Wallaby selection,” Sukkar said.
