Telecommunications company Vodafone has renewed its shirt sponsorship agreement with Turkish Super Lig football club Besiktas.
The new two-year deal will cover the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons and will be worth $10m (€9.4m).
Vodafone’s branding will continue to feature on the front of Besiktas’ playing shirts as part of the agreement.
In 2013 Vodafone signed a wide-ranging, 15-year sponsorship deal with Besiktas worth $150m. The deal granted the company naming rights to the club’s new home stadium, the Vodafone Arena, which opened last year.
Vodafone Turkey chief executive Colman Deegan said: “The Besiktas cooperation, especially Vodafone Arena, is one of the most concrete examples of our belief in Turkey. Turkey’s first smart stadium, Vodafone Arena, has become a magnificent monument of our vision of digitisation.”
He added: “Our new agreement of $10m is the most concrete proof that we will continue to invest in Turkey without slowing down.”
