Bahamas Bowl sets first with new title sponsor

The Bahamas Bowl college American football game has signed a title sponsorship agreement with the Elk Grove Village municipality in Illinois.

The village’s ‘Makers Wanted’ business slogan will be incorporated into the title of the game, which will now be known as the Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl.

The agreement marks the first time that a non-tourist municipality has sponsored a bowl game. Elk Grove Village reached the agreement with event organiser ESPN Events.

This year’s Bahamas Bowl will take place on December 21 at Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium (pictured) in Nassau, Bahamas. The game will feature teams from Conference USA and the Mid-American Conference.

“Elk Grove Village is home to the largest industrial park in the United States, spurred by our village’s commitment to being beyond business-friendly,” Elk Grove Village Mayor Craig Johnson said.

“Our relationship with the Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl and ESPN Events is a perfect opportunity to use college football to share our message with the entire country. We were impressed by how the bowl game has been developed in the Bahamas over the past four years, and we share in the excitement that this event brings to their community.”
