German Basketball Bundesliga team Alba Berlin has reached deal to make telecommunications brand Otelo an official sponsor for the 2014-15 season.
Otelo will benefit from extensive marketing rights, including a presence on LED boards and on-court branding at home matches.
Claus Jepp, a director at Otelo, said: “We are already successfully involved in football and now want to appeal to basketball fans who are a young, very interesting target group for us. Alba Berlin is the largest German basketball club and (the) capital Berlin is a very important market.”
Otelo is the shirt sponsor for 2.Bundesliga football team Fortuna Dusseldorf. The financial terms of its agreement with Alba Berlin were not disclosed.
