Adidas CEO Rørsted joins opposition to biennial World Cup plans

Kasper Rørsted, the chief executive of global sportswear company Adidas, has added the weight of his voice to world football governing body Fifa’s proposals to hold the World Cup on a biennial basis.

Adidas has been a sponsor of Fifa since 1970 and, in 2013, extended its wide-ranging deal which includes ball supply rights to the World Cup until 2030.
