Aaron’s ups Nascar involvement with MWR deal

Lease-to-own retailer Aaron’s has agreed a multi-year deal to sponsor Michael Waltrip Racing driver Brian Vickers in every Nascar Sprint Cup Series race from 2014.

Vickers, a three-time Sprint Cup winner in the US motor racing series, has raced for MWR in Aaron’s colours on a part-time basis for the past two seasons.

Under the terms of the new deal, he will drive the No. 55 Aaron’s Dream Machine from the start of the 2014 Sprint Cup – beginning at the Daytona International Speedway next February.

Michael Waltrip, founder and co-owner of MWR, said: “Aaron's is a cornerstone to MWR's success. This is a big announcement because it shows a tremendous vote of confidence in the sport of Nascar and the entire MWR organisation.”

Aaron’s has built up a long-term relationship with Nascar, an affiliation that began in 2002 through its title sponsorship of Aaron’s Dream Weekend at Talladega Superspeedway, with the Aaron's 312 Nationwide Series race and the Aaron's 499 Sprint Cup race.
