Sports fashion retailer JD Sports has agreed a deal to become the new title sponsor of the Welsh Premier League, the top tier of domestic football.
The three-year deal covers the 2017-18 to 2019-20 seasons and officially renames the competition as the JD Welsh Premier League.
JD replaces online betting and gaming company Dafabet as the league’s title sponsor.
JD Group marketing director Stephen White said: “This has been a great few years for Welsh football. JD has been a supporter of the national team for several years now, and as they continue to have success on the field, we are delighted to be continuing our support for the domestic game in Wales off the field.”
The 2017-18 WPL season gets underway tomorrow (Friday).
