UK airline Virgin Atlantic has agreed a partnership with the English Premiership top-tier club rugby union competition.
The deal will run for two years, covering the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons.
Virgin Atlantic will support the ‘Premiership Rugby USA’ initiative, where two teams will travel to the United States to play a regular league match. This year, Newcastle Falcons will face Saracens at the Talen Energy Stadium in Chester, Philadelphia, on September 16.
Virgin Atlantic will serve as the official airline partner and will transport both teams from the UK to the US for the match. Fans will also be able to use the airline to travel to the US for the game.
In addition, Virgin Atlantic will support other projects related to the Premiership Rugby USA initiative, including American players and coaches visiting the UK as part of the Premiership Rugby Scholarship programme.
