Specsavers signs up for Lions’ New Zealand tour

Opticians chain Specsavers has agreed a deal to become a sponsor of the British & Irish Lions rugby union team’s 2017 tour of New Zealand.

The company will serve as the official sponsor of match officials, with all referees at the tournament to wear a strip in Specsavers’ green and white brand colours.

The Lions begin the three-match tour on June 3 with a game against a Provincial Union side. The tour concludes on July 8 with a match against New Zealand.

Specsavers already has a commercial partnership in place with Super Rugby, the club competition run by the New Zealand Rugby national governing body.

The company now joins Gillette, White & Mackay, Canterbury, QBE, Land Rover, Qantas, Standard Life Investments, EY, Mud House, Thomas Pink, Robert Walters and Rhino as official Lions sponsors.
