British conglomerate Virgin and Canadian financial service company Scotiabank have been announced as tournament partners for the inaugural Caribbean Premier League Twenty20 cricket competition.
Virgin will support the event with its Virgin Atlantic, Virgin Holiday and Virgin Media brands in a partnership that covers the league’s six teams and makes Virgin Atlantic the official airline of the CPL.
The Antigua Hawksbills will be a particular focus for Virgin in the tournament that gets under way on July 30, with Virgin serving as a founding team sponsor for the franchise.
Elsewhere, Scotiabank has expanded its support of cricket in the Caribbean by becoming an official partner of the CPL’s debut season.
Earlier this month, Scotiabank signed a five-year deal with the West Indies Cricket Board to extend its sponsorship of the Kiddy Cricket initiative and support the development of youth cricket across the islands.
Scotiabank remains the official bank of the WICB, which it has been associated with for the past 14 years.
