Australia-based touring car championship V8 Supercars has expanded its strategic partnership with education and training provider TAFE Queensland.
Under the terms, TAFE Queensland become the official education partner of V8 Supercars and the Townsville 400, Ipswich SuperSprint and Gold Coast 600 races.
At the three events, 105 TAFE Queensland students will work with V8 Supercars staff across a variety of operational departments.
V8 Supercars chief executive James Warburton said: “Giving these students the opportunity to integrate with the V8 Supercars business will give them real life experience in a fast-paced, high-octane environment. It’s a great promotion of the type of skills that TAFE Queensland provide (for) their students.”
The first event in the partnership, the Townsville 400 will take place on the weekend of July 10-12 at Reid Park, Townsville.
