US sportswear and equipment manufacturer Under Armour has secured its first-ever partnership with a professional football league by teaming up with the North American Soccer League.
Under Armour has agreed a deal, the length of which was not disclosed, to become the official match ball partner of the NASL, the second tier of domestic football in North America.
The ‘Under Armour Desafio’ ball will be used during NASL matches, training sessions and community activities. The ball will feature the NASL logo and the league’s signature red and blue colours.
“Under Armour has quickly become a major player in the global soccer scene, and we believe that this partnership will benefit all who are involved in the game both here and abroad,” NASL commissioner Bill Peterson said.
The 2016 NASL season gets underway on April 2. The partnership also represents Under Armour’s first involving an official football match ball.
