Two more partners for Sochi 2014

ORGANISERS OF the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics have agreed sponsorship deals with American chemical corporation Dow Chemical Company and Russian jewellers Adamas.

Dow, already a Worldwide Partner of the International Olympic Committee and Official Chemistry Company of the Olympic Games, will now also be the Official Carbon Partner for Sochi 2014.

As part of the agreement, Dow will work with local companies and marketing partners of Sochi 2014 to reduce the carbon footprint associated with the delivery of the Games.

“We aim to be the most innovative Olympic Winter Games in history, and our long-lasting positive impact will leave behind an unparalleled heritage to Russia and its people for generations to come,” said Dmitry Chernyshenko, president and chief executive of the Sochi 2014 Organising Committee.

“With its vast experience, world-class leadership in the industry and a wide range of innovative solutions, Dow is the trustworthy partner to help us on our journey.”

Meanwhile, Adamas will be an Official Supplier to the Games in the category of jewellery, precious metals, gems and medals.

Adamas, already a supplier to the Russian Olympic Committee, will manufacture around 1,300 gold, silver and bronze medals for Sochi 2014 – a record number for a Winter Olympic Games.
