Global winemaking and distribution company treasury Wine Estates (TWE) has extended its long-term partnership with Australian annual horseracing event the Melbourne Cup.
The agreement will run for five seasons, extending TWE’s relationship with the event to 43 years. The deal will also signify the longest commercial partnership in the history of Melbourne Cup organiser, the Victoria Racing Club (VRC).
Under the agreement, TWE will continue to serve as the official wine partner of the VRC and the Melbourne Cup Carnival.
TWE will also retain its designation as the exclusive supplier of sparkling and table wine for all corporate and Birdcage marquees, as well as on-course bars and restaurants during the annual event.
TWE’s ‘Wolf Bass’ brand will host a marquee in the Birdcage section of the event while the firm’s 'Yellowglen' brand will continue as title sponsor of the Turnbull Stakes. Yellowglen will also host a double-storey terrace with an elevated viewing platform and themed cocktail bar.
