British builders’ merchants and home improvement retailer Travis Perkins has agreed a one-year extension to its title sponsorship of golf’s Senior Masters through to 2014.
It will be the 10th tournament Travis Perkins has backed on the European Senior Tour, following the Wentworth Senior Masters from 2002 to 2005 and the Senior Masters at Woburn since 2008.
The renewed sponsorship was announced today ahead of the 2013 edition of the tournament at Woburn Golf Club’s Duke’s Course, where Ireland’s defending champion Des Smyth is looking to claim his third title in four years.
Record crowds of 23,000 watched last year’s event and four former Ryder Cup captains – Mark James, Sam Torrance, Ian Woosnam and Colin Montgomerie – are in the running for the £300,000 (€347,000/$453,000) prize fund this time around.
