Mexican Liga MX football team Club Deportivo Guadalajara has reached a sponsorship agreement with beer brand Tecate.
The terms of Tecate’s deal with the club, which is commonly known as Chivas, were not disclosed.
Chivas will use the sponsorship to push its brand in the United States. A number of activations are planned, beginning with a friendly match against fellow Liga MX team Santos Laguna in Houston, Texas on March 27.
Having finished 16th in the Apertura section of the 2014-15 Liga MX season, Chivas is ninth following two wins and a draw from its first five matches in the Clausura section.
