Australian A-League football club Sydney FC has signed a shirt sponsorship deal with luxury hotel and entertainment complex The Star Sydney.
The deal will run for two years, starting immediately, and will see the firm’s logo feature on the front of Sydney FC’s home, away and alternative kits.
Under the agreement, The Star Sydney will become the team’s principal partner.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the Sydney Morning Herald newspaper reported that the agreement would be worth almost Aus$900,000 (€598,000/$706,000) per season, marking a record for the club.
The Star Sydney replaces online travel agency Webjet as Sydney FC’s main shirt sponsor.
The Star Sydney’s branding will also be present on the club’s shirts during the FFA Cup final in November.
