West Brom reveals record shirt sponsor deal

English Premier League club West Bromwich Albion has sealed a record shirt sponsorship deal with online casino company K8 Group.

The agreement will run for two seasons, from 2016-17 to 2017-18, and is reportedly worth in excess of £5m (€6.3m/$7.3m) over the course of the contract.

Through the deal, China-based K8 Group will launch its European brand, UK-K8.com, in the UK. The online betting company will also work with the club to create and distribute video content.

K8 Group chief operating officer Vincent Huang said: “K8 Group has had a long standing interest in working with a Premier League club and finally we are here with one of the most respected clubs in the Premier League. This partnership is delivered as a true partnership for both parties. We are working on a joint marketing plan that will focus on raising awareness of UK-K8.com in the UK whilst also ensuring the development of the West Bromwich Albion brand in Asia.”

Another Asian betting company, India-based TLCBET, is the current shirt sponsor of the club.
