Organisers of the inaugural edition of multi-sport competition the World Urban Games have signed sponsorship deals for the forthcoming event with telco Magyar Telekom, car sharing service MOL Limo, automotive manufacturer Volkswagen and energy drinks brand Red Bull.
The World Urban Games, organised by the Global Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF), will take place from September 13-15 in Budapest, Hungary. Magyar Telekom and MOL Limo have signed on as the two premium partners of the event.
Magyar Telekom will provide communications services for the Games on site, including a network for athletes, fans, judges and broadcasters. Spectators at the Games will have the opportunity to utilise MOL Limo to get back into the city centre after the event.
Volkswagen and Red Bull will serve as official partners, with the former providing exclusive transportation for athletes and VIPs, and the latter activating on site and in the global promotion of the Games.
Local Organising Committee chairman Balázs Fürjes said: “The World Urban Games has attracted interest from some of the biggest and most widely recognised national and international brands. This is a reflection not only of the sports landscape’s shift towards exciting new urban sports but also a credit to the complete urban festival that we have created with GAISF.”
