Food retail store chain Spar has renewed its presenting partnership with the Swiss Handball Federation (SHV).
Spar will continue to serve as the official presenter of Switzerland’s women’s national teams until at least the end of the 2021-22 season. Spar will also continue to title sponsor the first- and second-tier women’s competitions in the country.
Additionally, Spar will have presenting rights for the final of the Swiss Women’s Cup. Swiss clubs will also benefit from Spar’s cash-back campaign through the Spar Handball App, which will provide financial support for youth teams.
The campaign allows Spar customers to select their favourite club on the app and scan a barcode following each in-store purchase. A percentage of each payment is collected at the end of each year and distributed to clubs, with around CHF21,000 (€19,200/$21,200) having been raised last season.
Spar began title sponsoring the top-tier women’s competition in 2012 and in 2017 extended its commitment to the national team and clubs across Switzerland.
