Formula One motor racing team Force India has entered into a sponsorship agreement with vodka brand Smirnoff.
Under the deal, the terms of which were undisclosed, Smirnoff branding will feature on Force India’s VJM07 cars from next weekend’s Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona.
Smirnoff logos are to be positioned on the rear wing and top of the chassis, with branding on side pods at selected races. Drivers’ suits, helmets and team clothing will also carry Smirnoff marks.
Force India and Smirnoff are set to collaborate on a range of fan initiatives, such as the search to find members of the public to model the team’s new merchandise range that launches next week. Additionally, Smirnoff will promote responsible drinking through the partnership.
Over recent weeks, Force India has added UK-based pharmaceutical group Auden Mckenzie and Mexican companies Consorcio Aristos and Ficrea to its sponsorship portfolio.
Force India’s Nico Hulkenberg is currently fourth in the drivers’ championship after four rounds of the 2014 F1 season, with the team third behind Mercedes and Red Bull in the constructors’ championship.
