Global communications platform Skype has entered into a partnership with the 2015 Men’s Squash World Championship, which is currently taking place in Bellevue, Washington.
As part of the agreement, the championship will trial interactive fan chats through Skype.
Mike Melazzo, Skype’s director of partnership marketing, said: “As an expanding global sport, we look forward to being able to use Skype’s range of features to make this the most connected Men’s Squash World Championships to date and enabling fans from all over the world to interact with the tournament like never before.
“Skype users will also have the unique opportunity to ask questions to the players by simply using the Skype ID ‘PSAWorldTour’.”
The championship commenced in the United States yesterday (Sunday) and concludes on November 22. It is the first time the US has staged the event.
