Security company SECOM has been named as an official sponsor of the 2019 Rugby World Cup, which will take place in Japan.
SECOM, a Japan-headquartered company, will provide security expertise to event organisers to aid the delivery of the tournament, which runs from September 20 to November 2, 2019.
The deal strengthens SECOM’s rugby sponsorship portfolio, with the company also holding partnerships with the Japan Rugby Football Union, the Sunwolves Super Rugby team and the Top League club competition.
World Rugby chairman Bill Beaumont said: “SECOM is a true supporter of rugby in Japan and a brand-leader, and we look forward to partnering with them to channel that passion and expertise into ensuring a spectacular Rugby World Cup 2019 in Japan.
“The appointment of another global brand to the growing Rugby World Cup 2019 commercial portfolio further reflects the profile and prestige of one of the world’s biggest and best-loved events.”
The 2019 World Cup will mark SECOM’s first time as a sponsor of the event. The company joins Canon and Toto as official sponsors of the tournament, which has already completed its worldwide partner line-up through deals with Emirates, Heineken, Land Rover, Mastercard, Société Générale and DHL.
