Soft drinks manufacturer A.G. Barr has agreed a two-year deal to become a new partner of Scottish Rugby, the governing body of rugby union in Scotland.
A.G. Barr becomes Scottish Rugby’s official soft drink partner and will support the senior national team, sevens team and the country’s two professional clubs, Glasgow Warriors and Edinburgh Rugby, through its range of brands, which include Irn-Bru, Strathmore spring water and Barr Cola.
Furthermore, A.G. Barr also becomes the official soft drink partner of the Glasgow 7s leg of the Sevens World Series national team competition.
Adrian Troy, head of marketing at A.G. Barr, said: “We hope that across our portfolio of brands, we can play our part in continuing to build participation and involvement with the sport. The rugby sevens at Glasgow 2014 was one of the real highlights of a phenomenal Commonwealth Games so it’s a great time for us to be getting involved.”
The agreement means that A.G. Barr’s long-standing association with supporting Scottish sport will continue, having been a supporter of Scottish football for the last seven years through Irn-Bru, and more recently, a sponsor of the 2014 Commonwealth Games and Team Scotland.
A.G. Barr joins Scottish Rugby’s official partners BT, RBS, Macron, Caledonia Best, Ginger Grouse, Guinness, Dove Men +Care, Spire healthcare, Sportscotland, Cashback for Communities, Peter Vardy and Viagogo.
