Scottish Rugby, the governing body of rugby union in the country, has renewed its partnership with Italian sportswear company Macron.
The two parties have agreed to a four-year extension of their existing deal, which was due to expire in 2017. Macron will remain the official kit supplier and official retail and online partner of the body until June 2021.
Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed, although Scottish Rugby confirmed the new deal would see a “substantial increase” in Macron’s investment, adding that it was a “record-breaking” contract.
Under the agreement, Macron will continue to supply the match and training wear for each of Scotland’s men’s and women’s teams. The company will also remain the kit provider for Pro12 teams Glasgow Warriors and Edinburgh Rugby, as well as Scotland’s rugby sevens squad.
In addition, Macron will operate the official Scottish online store, where official merchandise can be purchased.
Macron chief executive Gianluca Pavanello said: “The renewal will allow Scottish Rugby and Macron to continue to progress some very exciting projects in terms of the product development of its teamwear ranges as well as the official online and retail operations. This will allow Scottish Rugby fans to have access to top quality, technically advanced product ranges combined with market leading customer service.”
Macron has been in partnership with Scottish Rugby since 2013.
