German Bundesliga football club Schalke has renewed a shirt sponsorship deal with Russian energy company Gazprom.
The deal will run for five seasons, from 2017-18 to 2021-22.
Financial details were not disclosed, but German magazine Bild said that the agreement is worth at least €120m ($137m) over the course of the deal. The club could receive more money, depending on success on the pitch.
Gazprom has been the club’s main sponsor since 2007.
Schalke general manager Clemens Tönnies said: “I am extremely pleased to continue our partnership until 2022. We are maintaining a close cooperation, which will be expanded with the new contract.”
The deal will include an expansion of initiatives in the Chinese market.
