The South African Rugby Union has agreed a sponsorship deal with Bidvest Car Rental.
The division of South African investment holding group Bidvest has been named the official car rental supplier of the governing body and the national team. The five-year deal becomes effective in 2016 and will conclude at the end of 2020.
As part of the agreement, Bidvest will display the Springboks logo on its marketing materials and the firm will also benefit from player appearances at promotional events. In addition, SARU’s players and staff will exclusively use Bidvest rental vehicles for the duration of the deal.
“We believe in the power of the Springbok brand and that we will be supporting something that our customers are passionate about,” Gaynor Von Loggenburg, sales and marketing director of Bidvest Car Rental, said. “We have made major strides as a company since our launch and this sponsorship is a key part of our strategy to build the Bidvest Car Rental brand in the minds of local and international travellers.”
