Software company SAP has signed a three-year extension to its partnership with the German Football Association (DFB).
SAP will retain its position as an official premium partner of the DFB and the German national team.
SAP will continue to develop technology applications for the DFB, and will use its expertise to provide detailed in-game and training data for the national team.
SAP first partnered with the DFB in 2013 and has supported the national team at the 2014 Fifa World Cup and this year’s Confederations Cup, with Germany winning both competitions.
Projects developed by SAP for the DFB include SAP Match Insights, a cloud-based platform that facilitates training analysis and tournament preparation; SAP Challenger Insights, which allows players and coaches to view scouting reports of opposing teams; and Penalty Insights, which gives goalkeepers and coaches information on opposition players’ penalty-taking preferences.
