Korean consumer electronics company Samsung has entered into a partnership with the German Football Association (DFB).
The three-year deal names Samsung as the official technology partner of the DFB.
The deal covers the men’s and women’s national teams, along with junior sides and the new DFB Academy in Frankfurt. Samsung will launch the #GoForBiggerGoals marketing campaign to promote the partnership.
Samsung will launch a specially-developed platform for the men’s national team ahead of this summer’s Fifa World Cup in Russia, where defending champion Germany has been drawn alongside South Korea, Mexico and Sweden in Group F.
Martin Börner, deputy president of Samsung Electronics, said: "With our claim to develop technologies that help people achieve more, we are committed to German football in two ways: We support the players and the DFB with our products and connect them to millions of passionate fans worldwide, creating a sense of community that will inspire teams."
