Sacramento Kings sign deal with Kaiser Permanente

Health care provider Kaiser Permanente has agreed a deal to become the medical provider and sponsorship partner of NBA basketball team the Sacramento Kings.

The length of the deal was not disclosed, but the club confirmed it would commence with the 2013-14 season.

Under the agreement, Kaiser Permanente will work with the club on a range of community health initiatives. This will include the Get Fit Timeout Programme, where Kings players, coaches and local celebrities join Kaiser Permanente staff to offer local youth advice on healthy eating and living.

The company will also partner the Kings in their effort to expand healthy food options available to fans at the club’s home venue, the Sleep Train arena.

In addition, Kaiser Permanente will sponsor the club’s annual Rhythm ‘N Rims event in Sacramento on October 13.

Under the official medical partner agreement, Kaiser Permanente will continue to provide health care to Kings players throughout the course of the deal.

Kaiser Permanente has served as a health care provider for the club for 20 years.
