German insurance company R+V Versicherung has signed as the main sponsor of Schalke 04 Esports, the esports division of the Bundesliga football club.
Under the four-year deal until the end of 2022 R+V will brand the front of the club’s esports jersey.
In addition, the insurer will name the ‘R+V Gaming House Berlin’ where esports players train for competitions.
Commenting on the deal, R+V chief sales officer Jens Hasselbächer said: “With our commitment [to esports], we can further increase our reputation as one of the leading German insurers, especially among young people, and win them over as customers.”
According to esportsinsider.com, the Schalke 04 Esports sponsorship roster includes hardware company Corsair; German smartphone Honor; health insurance brand AOK; nutritional supplements brand Braineffect; telecoms company Deutsche Glasfaser; energy drink effect; gaming brand Konami; and sportswear brand Umbro.
R+V has been a Premium Partner of the Schalke 04 football club since 2015. It signed an extension in July last year to season 2022-23.
