The South American Football Confederation (Conmebol) has agreed a four-season deal with consumer goods company Unilever that will make its Rexona antiperspirant brand a new partner of the Copa Libertadores.
The agreement will run across the 2019 to 2022 editions of the continent’s top-tier club competition. It was brokered by FC Diez Media, the entity which markets Conmebol’s commercial rights.
Through the agreement, Rexona will have a significant presence throughout the Libertadores, benefiting from media and social media content, as well as various brand activation opportunities.
The deal has been signed as the 2018 Copa Libertadores comes to a close with a first-ever meeting in the final between arch Argentinian rivals Boca Juniors and River Plate.
The Buenos Aires clubs drew 2-2 in the first leg of the final on Sunday, with the second leg to take place at River’s Estadio Monumental on November 24.
