German retail and tourism group Rewe has renewed an agreement that grants it naming rights to the Handball Bundesliga’s season-ending Final Four event.
The new three-year agreement will cover the 2018 to 2020 editions of the event.
Rewe has sponsored the Final Four since 2015 and its three-year agreement was due to expire after the 2017 event, which takes place this weekend at Hamburg’s Barclaycard Arena.
Under the extended agreement, Rewe will benefit from on-court and LED advertising exposure, while the company will also be promoted on the league’s website and social media channels.
Rewe will also continue to sponsor the league’s Super Cup and All Star Game events.
“Handball is a fast and dynamic team sport, which fits the Rewe philosophy very well,” Peter Maly, managing director of Rewe Markt, said. “We are proud to be able to sustainably support the successful development of handball in Germany over the next three years. The brand ‘Rewe’ stands for freshness, quality and customer service. We want to encourage people to lead a healthier way of life through the fascination of sport, which is balanced with a balanced diet and regular sporting activities.”
This year’s Final Four will be contested by SC DHfK Leipzig, THW Kiel, Rhein-Neckar Löwen and SG Flensburg-Handewitt.
