Resurgent Southampton secures new main sponsor

English Premier League football club Southampton has signed a two-year deal with Veho, making the consumer electronics firm its new main sponsor.

Veho has its headquarters in Southampton and its new agreement will take effect from July 1. The company replaces IT services and recruitment provider aap3, which has served as Southampton’s main commercial partner for the past three years.

The Veho partnership will also see the launch of a range of co-branded electronics in association with Southampton.

Gareth Rogers, Southampton chief executive, said: “Southampton Football Club is ready to build upon the successes of recent years, and finding a partner who could match our ambition was our main priority. In Veho, we have a partner who will help us further our reputation for being at the forefront of sport science and innovation throughout every department – not just the football side. Being able to select a partner who is part of the local community here in Southampton and has a global reach allows us to continue our development at a fast pace.”

Southampton finished its 2013-14 season with a 1-1 draw at home to Manchester United on Sunday. The result ensured the south coast outfit finished eighth in the Premier League table with a club-record 56 points.
