Banking and financial services company Regions Bank has agreed to extend its title sponsorship of the Tradition PGA Tour Champions golf event in the US.
The renewed deal will run for five years, from 2019 to 2023. The firm’s existing agreement was due to expire in 2018.
The event will continue to be known as the Regions Tradition and the company will also maintain its support of ongoing charitable efforts linked to the tournament.
Since Regions Bank took over as title sponsor in 2011, the event has raised more than $4.5m (€4.2m) for area charities.
PGA Tour Champions president Greg McLaughlin said: “Through the efforts and engagement of Regions Bank, this tournament has created a significant charitable impact in the community, while also spearheading the launch of our five major championships each season.”
Meanwhile, the PGA Tour Champions has agreed a deal for the Greystone Golf & Country Club in Birmingham, Alabama, to continue as host of the competition.
Greystone first staged the event in 2011 and the renewal will extend its role as host by five years, through to 2023.
The 2017 Regions Tradition will take place at Greystone from May 15-21.
