Canadian financial institution RBC and aerospace company Boeing have extended their sponsorship deals with the PGA Tour’s Heritage golf tournament in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina in the US.
The one-year extension will cover the 2017 tournament, which will continue to be known as the RBC Heritage and will remain at the Harbour Town Links course.
RBC and Boeing have served as title and presenting sponsors, respectively, of the tournament since 2011.
John Taft, chief executive of RBC’s US wealth management unit, confirmed both extensions ahead of this year’s event, which begins tomorrow (Thursday) and runs until Sunday.
Simon Fraser, chairman of the Heritage Classic Foundation organising body, said that the deals were agreed over one month ago, but have remained private.
