Rado has agreed a three-year deal with the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) to become an official sponsor of the governing body of British tennis, as well as the official timekeeper of the Aegon Championships, Aegon Classic and Aegon International events.
The Swiss watchmaker will be represented at the tournaments through Rado-branded corner clocks, which will serve as the official timing system for matches. In addition, Rado will also provide clocks for use in public areas.
Part of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Tour, the Aegon Championships will take place from June 10-16 at The Queen’s Club. Also on the ATP Tour, the Aegon International will immediately follow from June 15-22 at Devonshire Park, Eastbourne. Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Tour event, the Aegon Classic, will be hosted at the Edgbaston Priory Club in Birmingham from June 9-16.
The confirmation of the deal will further enhance Rado’s affiliation with the sport as a whole. The company has already served as the official timekeeper at a number of tennis events this year, and is scheduled to fulfil the role for a number of upcoming tournaments later in 2013.
