Queensland Reds sign sponsor ahead of new Super Rugby season

Australian Super Rugby franchise the Queensland Reds has secured a kit sponsorship deal with employment services company Smartgroup.

As part of the agreement, which Smartgroup struck with the Queensland Rugby Union, the logo of the company’s Smartsalary brand will feature on the Reds’ playing shorts. The three-year contract covers the 2017 to 2019 seasons.

The partnership will also provide brand exposure for other Smartgroup companies such as Smartleasing, Selectus and Autopia.

David Hanham, deputy chief executive of the QRU, said: “The Queensland Rugby Union’s reach allows our partners to benefit from our intimate relationship with rugby stakeholders across the state as well as providing multiple opportunities with our elite rugby teams like the St. George Queensland Reds.

“We’re able to assist Smartgroup’s direct relationship with the corporate rugby community throughout Queensland. The large business network rugby enjoys is a very good match for Smartgroup’s product range and the QRU is keen to maximise this new partnership in the coming years.”

The Reds begin their 2017 Super Rugby season with a home match against the Sharks of South Africa tomorrow (Friday).
