Telecommunications company KT has entered into a partnership with the Korean Luge Federation ahead of its home winter Olympic Games in 2018.
KT has agreed a three-year deal to sponsor the sport’s national governing body until 2018. Under the agreement, the company will lend its support to national luge athletes. It will also organise luge-related promotions for its customers.
KT aims to use its 5G network technology to enhance the performance of athletes. The technology will be released ahead of the winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in PyeongChang, South Korea in 2018.
In July 2014, KT was announced as the first domestic sponsor of the Games. The company will provide a high-speed internet service for the multi-sport event and, as a top-tier partner, is entitled to use the PyeongChang 2018 logo in its advertising campaigns.
