PyeongChang 2018 logs on with new partner

The PyeongChang Organising Committee for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic winter Games (POCOG) has agreed a sponsorship deal with internet services company Naver Corporation.

The deal, financial terms of which were not disclosed, names the Korean company the official internet portal sponsor of the Games.

As part of the agreement, representing a second-tier domestic sponsorship, Games organisers will use Naver’s search engine and display advertisement services during the event. The company will also be given a host of marketing rights that include the use of intellectual properties and a place on POCOG’s marketing partner recognition program.

“Engaging the participation and boosting the passion of the Korean public will be a key factor in determining success of the Olympic winter Games PyeongChang 2018,” POCOG president Yang-ho Cho said. “Games information can be distributed more accurately and quickly with the support of Naver, and help us draw more public attention.”

The Games will take place from February 9-25, 2018.
