Financial services company Prudential has agreed a deal to sponsor the 2017 edition of the Southeast Asian Games multi-sport event, which will be held in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur.
Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad agreed the partnership with the Malaysian Organising Committee (MASOC). Prudential will serve as the official insurance partner and a silver sponsor of the Games.
Malaysia’s Youth and Sports Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin, confirmed that the deal would be worth between RM1m (€210,000/$226,000) and RM3m, in line with Prudential's status as a silver sponsor.
As part of the agreement, Prudential will provide insurance cover for Games volunteers. The company will also promote the event through billboards across Malaysia.
The SEA Games will run from August 19-31, with the ASEAN Para Games to follow from September 17-23.
