AFL Aussie rules football team Port Adelaide has agreed a sponsorship deal with Italian dairy and food corporation Parmalat.
The length of the agreement was not disclosed, but the partnership will at least cover the 2017 AFL season.
As part of the deal, Parmalat’s OAK milk brand will receive exposure on Port Adelaide’s playing jerseys. OAK’s branding will feature in the space previously occupied by EnergyAustralia, which will continue to work with the club on community initiatives.
In August, Port Adelaide’s other major partner, French automotive manufacturer Renault, extended its jersey sponsorship deal with the club.
Port Adelaide recently announced that it would play an historic game against the Gold Coast Suns in Shanghai next year, with the AFL set to become the first major sports league to stage a regular-season encounter in China.
“Parmalat has interest in China – and they like the fact we want to explore China,” Port Adelaide chief executive Keith Thomas told Adelaide-based newspaper The Advertiser.
