U.S. Polo Assn., the official brand of the United States Polo Association, has been named as the official apparel sponsor of the Argentine Open, one of the sport’s leading events.
The agreement covers the 2017 edition of the event, which is currently taking place and concludes on Saturday. The tournament is being held at the Argentine Polo Grounds in Buenos Aires.
Through a partnership with the Argentine Polo Association, U.S. Polo Assn. is outfitting the event’s umpires with official-branded game jerseys and white jeans. The company is also providing an on-site retail store to showcase co-branded products.
The deal grants U.S. Polo Assn. on-field signage, consumer sweepstakes and social media promotions.
Eduardo Novillo Astrada, president of the Argentine Polo Association, said: “The brand's large global footprint across 150 countries and the authentic connection to polo will help us build global awareness for the sport as we execute our vision. We believe this opportunity is the beginning of an exciting long-term relationship.”
David Cummings, chief executive and president of USPA Global Licensing, added: “This partnership is a very important part of our long-term strategy to bring the sport of polo to the world.”
The Argentine Open is a 40-goal tournament featuring players and teams from Argentina and across the world.
