Equitrade on board as World Series of Polo sponsor

Barter transactions specialist Equitrade International has agreed a deal to become a global partner to the World Series of Polo from 2015 to 2019.

One of six global partners to the US-based series, Equitrade will enjoy the benefits of core sponsorship rights to all World Series of Polo match competitions including the flagship 2015 World Series of Polo Championship Cup event internationally, along with regionally hosted events and participation in development initiatives.

Equitrade said its sponsorship is worth $12.5m (€9.2m) per year over the four-year period. It has been designated as the official barter clearinghouse for the 2015 World Series of Polo, providing a global market for the goods and services offered by corporate sponsors of the event and facilitating transactions through its electronic barter currency.

"Our partnership with the 2015 World Series of Polo is an ideal one as it benefits both sides from the point of view of branding," Equitrade International president and chief executive Jim West said. "The World Series of Polo has a universal reach and is a very uniquely attributed sport which has convinced us to commit to our $50m global sponsorship deal.  It gives us an ideal opportunity to leverage the powerful assets of Equitrade International in the sports sponsorship industry."
