Italian tyre manufacturer Pirelli has agreed a deal to sponsor sailing outfit Team New Zealand at the 35th America’s Cup.
Pirelli’s logo and branding will appear on the team’s boat and rudder throughout this year’s event.
Team New Zealand chief executive Grant Dalton said: “We value associations with premium international brands like Pirelli where continuous innovation and dedication are a core part of the culture.”
Team New Zealand last won the America’s Cup in 2000 and lost out in the final to Team USA at the most recent edition of the event in 2013.
The 35th America’s Cup begins with a qualifying event in Bermuda on May 26.
