Oakley has agreed a deal to become the official supplier of eyewear at this year’s edition of the PGA Championship golf tournament.
As part of the deal, the brand will have an experiential presence at the European Tour event, which will take place at the Wentworth Club, England from May 23 to 26. Oakley’s on-site innovation ‘Lab’ will be open throughout the tournament to allow spectators to gain an insight into the science and technology behind the eyewear, as well as shop the Oakley golf range of products.
Oakley already enjoys partnerships with a number of renowned professional golfers, including Ian Poulter and Rafael Cabrera-Bello, and this latest deal will help strengthen its ties to and association with the sport as a whole.
Tom Cartmale, brand director of Oakley UK, said: “This is an important step for our brand in the golf market. The PGA Championship has a unique standing in golf and we are proud to partner with such a prestigious event.”
