Petrobras backs Brazilian judo’s Olympic medal drive

Petrobras has struck a four-year sponsorship deal with the Brazilian Judo Confederation (CBJ) to support the organisation ahead of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

The Brazilian energy company, which is part-owned by the state, will invest R$20m (€7.2m/$9.4m) into the sponsorship, which forms part of the government’s Brazil Medals Plan project.

The scheme aims to place Brazil inside the top 10 of the Rio 2016 Olympic medals table and the top five of the 2016 Paralympics table.

Petrobras will receive brand exposure on the Brazilian judo uniforms in both domestic and international competitions.
